The Log Cabin is a landmark hospitality venue in Penrith, offering a premium pub experience with stunning riverfront views, modern Australian cuisine, and a warm community atmosphere. We are currently seeking a skilled and passionate Chef to join our dynamic kitchen team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook a range of menu items to a consistently high standard
- Ensure all dishes are presented in line with venue specifications
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment in accordance with food safety standards
- Assist in stock rotation, labelling, and minimising kitchen waste
- Follow all hygiene and OH&S procedures and ensure compliance with food handling regulations
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service during peak periods
- Support senior chefs and contribute to daily kitchen operations
- Assist with training and mentoring of junior kitchen staff where required
- At least 1-2 year of experience in a busy kitchen environment (pub or restaurant experience highly regarded)
- Ability to work well under pressure and multitask in a fast-paced setting
- Passion for quality food and attention to detail
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Flexible availability including nights, weekends, and public holidays
- Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery (preferred but not essential)
- Knowledge of safe food handling and hygiene practices
